Buying A100

At last I got the SONY A100 camera with helps of wife and friends.

1. My wife went to SONY shop, had been waiting for three hours in line, with the little girl, and bought it. Thanks to her, I got additional gifts like a stylish bag, a high-quality shoulder strip, and free-AS extension. It was amazing that she helped so much in that she had not agreed to buy a new camera so far. I was really surprised at her full support. Anyway we became one of the first users for SONY DSRL, which is not delivered to users yet.

2. MCChae gave me a good advice for choosing a camera, sending me the 60-page document about Kodak and Canon products, which he had got from CHLEE before. It was helpful, and made me hesitate to choose SONY and even consider KODAK ! I think I bought a SONY product rather than a camera.

3. One guy at work, recommended EOS 5 very strongly. His idea was that the mid/low-range body was just a temporary, and would make me continously think about a better one. But it's too expensive as you know.

-

Due to the incessant heavy rains, no opportunity to test it outside. But the first glance from indoor test shots was that the shutter speed and feelings was not familiar to me and the flash operation was so and so. I'm not an expert for this, so please visit to DPreview for the preview. As I know, there's no general user reports yet.

PS 1.

I couldn't resist the temptaion for this, just surrendered to the god-of-merchant, who set fires on me, and hope now the god-of-bankuptcy to pass by without a care for me.

PS2.

The above pics were taken by the old SONY compact camera. They would be the last using the old one.

Oh~~ you have chosen the sony alpha-100 in the long run.
Congraturations on your first entrance at DSLR user.
I have taken about 80,000 pictures from 2003 June on.
I know you know how to taking frame and how to express main theme compare to sub-theme.

You have have two zoom lenz?
Standard zoom lenz (includeing 50mm), telescope zoom lenz (perhaps 70~300mm)?
I have no experience about pentax lenz.
In my case at first I wish to get a sharper and brigher which have lower F value more and more.
However as you know, I can buy a Cannon's L -- stands for luxury -- lenz and it's too expensive for my hobby.
Anyway have a good hobby life using the alpha 100.
If time allow I'll come and see the camera and compare picture results with mine.

Thanks all, but I'm a beginner and am reading the manuals.
By the way, I'm in the office at the moment due to the disaster...

You have to thank your wife.
You can probably make an opportunity to reward your wife for her leniency. She didn't agree to buying new camera but allowed and helped husband's wish.
